Evaluation of a Time Efficient Medium Access Policy: GTDMA

Time-Division Multiple Access (TDMA) medium access policy is widely used in wireless sensor networks where predictability is mandatory in communication. Such a policy is ideal for real-time applications but has an inefficient use of the communication channel. A significant improvement is given by the Greedy TDMA (GTDMA) access policy. In this paper, we present a complex simulation platform built on a popular sensor network simulator. We present an accurate analysis over the benefits of the GTDMA policy over the classic TDMA after intense simulations in many scenarios.
