Enhancement of PAPR Reduction Performance of Modified SLM technique using Moth Flame Optimization

PAPR is a major problem in OFDM systems, despite of many advantages of OFDM technology. Numerous methods have been proposed to minimize the PAPR, from basic low complex clipping techniques to high complex tone reservation techniques. Selective mapping technique has also been proven to be one of the best and robust techniques for PAPR reduction. In this paper, modified SLM using phase sequence vectors has been implemented and applied for different baseband modulated signals. Also, further enhancement in the PAPR reduction performance of modified SLM has been achieved by introducing Moth Flame optimization algorithm to achieve optimal results. From the results, the optimal modified SLM performance is proven to be better than modified SLM under various cases such as using different number of subcarriers and different baseband modulated data.
