Application of Periodically Slotted SiO2 to Layered SAW Structure for Manipulation of SAW Slowness Curve

This paper investigates applicability of periodically slotted SiO
2
structure (PSs) for controlling the SAW slowness shape in layered SAW structures represented by I.H.P. SAW. The periodic 2.5D FEM is used to study variation of the slowness shape with the structural parameters of PSs. It is shown that use of PSs is effective to flatten the slowness shape.
