Fast Charging EV Battery Technology: A Step Towards Sustainable Future

Over the past decade, Electric Vehicles have emerged as an alternative to internal combustion engines owing to their environmental impact. In order to increase the adaptivity of Electric Vehicles, it is important that the battery charging time is comparable to fuelling time in vehicles. This paper proposes Fast EV charging stations integrated with grid at highways that would reduce the range anxiety and also allows charging of multiple vehicles simultaneously. This paper evaluates the effects of fast charging EV Battery technology on existing infrastructure. Lastly mitigation techniques are proposed and our results shows that our innovative mitigation technique helps in alleviating the effects of the fast charging technology on the grid.
