A High Gain n260 39.0GHz 5G-Antenna with Conformal Configuration

Single-port microwave access high gain ultra-compact antenna, radiating electromagnetic energy covering bandwidth of 38.58GHz-39.66GHz (n260 5G-band) with resonance at 39.0GHz is investigated in this article. The radiating EM wave patch consist of circular-slotted circular patch connected to feedline is etched on top-plane of dielectric whereas, the ground is on the opposite side. The proposed antenna occupies very compact volume of 6×8×0.254 mm3 on Rogers dielectric material. The antenna resonates at 39.0GHz with matching impedance of (56.72-j1.99)Ω. The proposed antenna offers peak gain of 6.20dB atb 39.0GHz with radiation patterns in xz and yz plane directed towards boresight direction. The thin substrate offers conformal capability which is tested in the proposed work offering operational bandwidth of 38.54GHz-39.62GHz which makes it suitable for smart-watch technology applications and smart city 5G infrastructure.
