Channel Modeling and Performance Assessment of C-V2X Based on Field Measurements

In recent times, there has been a significant amount of focus from both academia and industry towards cellular vehicle to everything (C-V2X) technology. The design of C-V2X system needs channel characteristic as a foundation, where field testing and channel modeling are required. In this paper, we propose a C-V2X performance testing approach including data collection, calculation, and application. Additionally, we employ the assessment of channel quality metrics using both static and dynamic testing scenarios. Based on the obtained results, we establish a large-scale fading model using the least square (LS) and Kolmogorov-Smirnov (KS) test and a small-scale fading model based on the Akaike information criteria (AIC). According to the simulation results, path loss follows a logarithmic shape, shadow fading follows a Gaussian distribution with a zero mean, and small-scale fading follows a weibull distribution.
