Analysis of Islanded Micro-Grid for Radial and Meshed Distribution Networks using Zbus Matrix

Power flow solution of radial and meshed distribution system using Zbus Matrix is presented here, which is different from the topology based or the network identification based methods. Here the Zbus Matrix (New) is directly build using Type-1 and Type-2 modifications of the existing Zbus matrix (Old). The computation time of power flow solution with this method is less than the previous methods. Also the proposed algorithm easily extended to the power flow solution for a meshed distribution system. The calculation of droop constant Zn for single feeder multi-DG Micro-Grid system is possible with the proposed approach. The proposed algorithm robustness has been tested on a standard IEEE-33 Bus Radial and Meshed distribution system and the results obtained were validated with the previous methods.
