A V2G Schedulable Capacity Evaluation Method for Residential Quarters with a High Proportion of EVs

Evaluation of the schedulable capacity of EVs (EVSC) is a crucial stage in the development of V2G technology to take advantage of the benefits of EVs as distributed energy storage. If the EVSC can be accurately assessed and used to serve the frequency response of residential electricity consumption and the power grid, it will play a role in peak shaving and valley filling, achieving a win-win situation for the power grid and users. This is especially true in residential quarters with a high proportion of EVs. In this paper, based on the formation principle of schedulable capacity and the V2G electricity model, an EVSC evaluation method is suggested for residential quarters. Also, the significant role that V2G schedulable capacity plays in reducing peak demand is examined from the standpoint of the potential of electric power autonomy in residential quarters. The suggested EVSC evaluation model and associated theories are examined and validated using an actual residential quarter as an example. The robustness of the model is examined by the solution of the EVSC using various scheduling time scales.
