Interaction Design of Indonesian Junior High School Academic Information System using User-Centered Design

This study explores the enhancement of user experience in academic information systems, spotlighting issues with current models like the e-Rapor Kurikulum Merdeka. Focusing on user interaction design, this research employs a user-centered design method to identify the usability and user experience goals in order to develop a more effective, motivating, and enjoyable interface. User needs and problems were identified through interviews and observations, culminating in the creation of a low-fidelity prototype and a static frontend page. These designs were shaped by six objectives: three usability goals (efficient to use, easy to learn, and easy to remember how to use) and three user experience goals (helpful, enjoyable, and motivating). Evaluations were conducted using the system usability scale (SUS), single ease question (SEQ), basic psychological need satisfaction for technology use (BPN-TU), and the technology acceptance model (TAM). Early tests up to the second iteration suggest the prototypes meet the set goals, with SUS score 100%, average SEQ score of 6,98 out of 7, average BPN-TU score of 5 out of 5, and all TAM scores are above the existing application TAM scores.
