Implementation of a Multitone Digital Predistortion Method for 5G Applications in OFDM Systems

An effective predistortion method to enhance Adjacent Channel Leakage Ratio (ACLR) in the presence a of dynamic Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM) signal generated with random data for 5G systems with RF power amplifiers is developed and implemented. The proposed method is tested using dynamic random data to generate the input OFDM waveforms. It has been shown that a 27dBc improvement for 256-Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) and 20dBc improvement for 64-QAM have been achieved using the proposed digital predistortion method. These results are significantly better results than any other existing results that are reported in the literature.
