A Norm-Free Event-Triggering Architecture for Scheduling Control Data Transmissions in the Presence of Sensor Uncertainties

Event-triggering is an effective method for aperiodically scheduling control data transmissions in networked systems. However, the resulting closed-loop system performance can significantly deteriorate in the presence of sensor uncertainties arising due to low sensor quality, sensor malfunction, sensor bias, sensor attack, and detrimental environmental conditions. Motivated by this standpoint, the contribution of this paper is a norm-free event-triggering architecture for scheduling control data transmissions when compromised state measurements-state values of a considered system that are corrupted by unknown exogenous disturbances-are available for event-triggered control. We show that the proposed architecture guarantees asymptotic stability of the closed-loop event-triggered system when these exogenous disturbances are time-invariant, and uniform ultimate boundedness when they are time-varying. An illustrative numerical example is also provided to demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed architecture.
