Evaluation of Clean Production Management Effectiveness in Oilfield Using Multi-Temporal High-Resolution Satellite Imagery

Hydrocarbon content waste and drilling mud were produced in the process of hydrocarbon production. Reliable monitoring of waste disposal is important in environmental risk control and timely treatment, it is also a key factor to clean production management. In this paper, an approach for regional clean production effectiveness evaluation based on remote sensing data is presented. We analyzed the production performance by monitoring the dynamic changes of production facilities and emission storage locations during the production cycle with multi-temporal high-resolution satellite imagery. An evaluation method was developed to assess the efficiency of the clean production over the oilfield through analyzing the relationship between the spatial distribution and the rate of change of oil-related objects of construction activities. Results show that remote sensing can be a valuable way in clean production monitoring and assessment in the large area.
