A Case Study of Starlink and 5G in Future Space based Internet Services

As early as the 1980s, the US Department of Defense (DOD) proposed the deployment of small satellite constellations on near -ground orbit to perform military tasks such as communication, reconnaissance, and early warning. However, due to the high launch costs, many low -orbiting military satellite projects represented by the “Space Tracking and Surveillance System” (STSS). In recent years, the cost of space launch transportation has continued to decrease, and the US defense department has also proposed low -orbiting military satellite Internet projects such as “Black Jack” and “National Defense Space Strang” (NDSA). In this work, we discuss the use of Starlink and 5G in the future space internet services, comparison of the two major style is discussed for the future utilization of 5G and beyond.
