A Novel Equivalent Dipole Moment-Based MoM-SBR Hybrid Method for EM Scattering Computation of Electrically Large Complex Targets

In this paper, a hybrid method based on Equivalent Dipole Moment (EDM) and the Method of Moments (MoM)-Shooting and Bouncing Rays (SBR) is suggested to analyze the RCS of electrically large complex objects. The MoM impedance matrix is filled with the EDM, and can also improve the calculation efficiency of the coupling between the MoM and SBR regions. Additionally, an iterative method is also introduced to further boost the proposed algorithm’s performance. The EI-MoM-SBR algorithm's simulation results are compared to those of the approach presented in this letter, and the comparison reveals that the proposed method delivers good accuracy and significantly decreases computing time. Thus, it is shown that the proposed hybrid algorithm performs more effectively than the traditional MoM-SBR method.
