Submillimeter Wave Rectangular Waveguide and its Flange Design Based on Gap Waveguide Technology

In this paper, a waveguide connector is designed based on gap waveguide technology, which can limit the leakage of energy caused by connection errors between waveguides. Because there will be a certain gap when the waveguide and the waveguide are connected, the gap will cause energy to leak from it, resulting in deterioration of structural performance, especially in the millimeter wave and above frequency bands. At this time, we use the gap waveguide technology to design the mushroom-type electromagnetic bandgap periodic structure to achieve the effect of limiting energy leakage. Secondly, through the reasonable design of the connection between the two waveguides, the impact of energy leakage on the waveguide connector is minimized; Finally, the full-wave simulation software is used to simulate the designed structure. The results show that the waveguide connector designed in this paper can effectively limit the energy leakage, achieve better transmission performance, and is easier to achieve in engineering.
