Broadband flexible radar-infrared bi-stealth structure based on multilayered metasurface

In this paper, a broadband radar wave absorber and a low infrared emissivity structure was proposed and demonstrated. The square patterned ink resistive film was specifically designed so that they can absorb incident electromagnetic (EM) wave at different frequencies. The square Metasurface (MS) has both high transmittance to radar wave and low infrared emissivity. We adopt a Genetic Algorithm (GA) based on equivalent circuit model (ECM) to optimize the structure. The whole bi-stealth structure was fabricated and measured at standard environment. Both the simulated and experimental results indicated that this absorber has absorption for more than 90% from 2.4 to 20.4 GHz at normal incidence while the infrared emissivity is 0.257. The 7mm thick structure would have broad application in many aspects.
