Design and Implementation Energy Harvesting Using a Thermoelectric Generator (TEG) SP 1848-2715 SA with Solar Energy as a Source of Heat Energy

Energy harvesting is the process of capturing energy from external sources, such as sunlight, heat, waves, pressure, and various other sources of energy. One of the energy recovery tools is a thermoelectric generator, which can convert energy obtained from temperature differences. This study examines the design of power harvesting using a thermoelectric generator SP1848-27145 SA, utilizing solar energy as a heat source and a collecting lens as a solar collector. The research method in this article is experimental, utilizing quantitative analysis and tables as data analysis techniques. Tests were carried out under two conditions: with and without a light-focusing device. The data has shown that the highest current and voltage are generated when the light-focusing device is used, resulting in a voltage of 3.58 V, a current of 286.62 mA, at a light intensity of 88.67% and a temperature difference of $22.93 ^{\circ}\mathrm{C}$ at the thermoelectric generator. On average, the thermoelectric output value on the first and second days indicated that a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 1500 mAh was charged to 56.6% after a momentary charge for 4 hours. Furthermore, the use of a light-focusing device significantly impacted the heat collected on the copper plate, resulting in a difference of $6 ^{\circ}\mathrm{C}$.
