A 10W Power Amplifier Module in 92-94GHz Frequency Band

This paper proposes an 8-way waveguide power distribution/combination network based on waveguide branch bridge and T-junction. The architecture of the power combining amplifier module and design of the 8-way power divider/combiner network are discussed first in the paper. Then the power divider/combiner network is manufactured and verified by test. The test results show that in the frequency range of 90-100GHz the return loss of this 8-way power divider/combiner network is better than 15dB, and the insertion loss less than 2.3dB, respectively. Finally, the whole power combining amplifier module is assembled and tested using the proposed network. This power combining amplifier module can output a maximum power of 10W with a gain of 40dB within the frequency range of 92-94GHz. The power distribution/combining network designed in this paper has a simple and compact structure with superior performance and great application potential in W-band power combination.
