Polarization Reconfigurable Metasurface Retroreflector

In this work, a polarization reconfigurable metasurface retroreflector is proposed. It is made up of specially created, regularly spaced-out polarization reconfigurable programmable meta-atoms (PRPMs). Simulation results show that the proposed polarization reconfigurable metasurface retroreflector can operate normally in the presence of oblique incidence at a significant angle and independently control two electromagnetic (EM) waves with orthogonal polarization. This finding can be used in modern wireless communication and the identification of friend or foe.
