Study on the Impact of Physical Parameters on the Performance of a Vehicle with an Interconnected Suspension System

The Hydraulic Interconnected Suspension (HIS) system offers the advantage of fully decoupling the bounce, pitch, roll, and wrap vibration modes. This paper aims to create a physical model of such a system using Simscape, where the effects of environmental and constructive parameters can be studied with respect to the performance of the HIS. To achieve this goal, a physical representation of the Hydraulic system and the suspension units was built and connected to a kinematic representation of the vehicle and its suspension, with the kinematic model being exposed to longitudinal and lateral acceleration, simulating real maneuvers, as well as simulated road profiles at the wheels.
