Analysis of Conducted Electromagnetic Interference in Bidirectional Interleaved DC-DC Converter

This paper analyses the conducted electromagnetic interference in a bidirectional non-isolated interleaved DC-DC converter operating in discontinuous conducted mode (DCM) and used in an elevator energy storage system. The analysis is performed by simulation testing using LTspice simulation software, where the simulation model of the DC-DC converter is built using the parameters of a laboratory prototype. The effects of operation in DCM on the conducted common mode noise (CM) and differential mode noise (DM) are investigated with the aim of tuning the EMI filter. In addition, the effect of snubbers on CM conducted currents is investigated. The analysis is performed for both buck and boost operation of the DC-DC converter at a maximum power of 4.5 kW.
