FinTech Usage in Saudi Arabia: The implications on youth financial decisions

Financial technology (FinTech) applications have become an integral part of our lives, and one of the most affected sectors is the economic sector. The majority of FinTech users in Saudi Arabia are young people who are under 35 years old. However, little is known about their FinTech usage and its impact on their financial decisions. In this work-in-progress, we aim to explore how young Saudis utilize FinTech applications to manage their finances, with particular attention to a specified special category of those users (e.g., the beneficiaries of university stipends, social funds, etc.). We use a descriptive qualitative research design to answer the research questions. The results will be analyzed in light of the UTAUT model. The results can assist academics, policymakers, and young people in understanding the relationship between their FinTech use and money management practices.
