CD and CDC Technologies in Next-generation Optical Networks

This paper compares two different node architecture technologies in next-generation optical networks. A node model and a corresponding objective function with appropriate constraints were created for the problem. A heuristic algorithm based on an evolutionary algorithm was used to solve the problem. The experiments were performed for a 10-node American network with a relatively high node degree, equals 6. The results show the advantages of using CDC technology, which, from a practical point of view, can be successfully used by operators of modern and large optical networks.
