Wireless Network Coverage and Visualization Model for Ship Random Communication

Robust and reliable network communication is the basic support for ship navigation safety. In this regard, the study of maritime communication network coverage laws under the complex spatial and temporal distribution characteristics of ships is the core problem in building a robust maritime ship communication network. To this end, a maritime wireless network coverage visualization model for ship random communication is proposed. This model established a three-dimensional coverage model containing ship node coverage density, wireless communication reachable distance, and communication network coverage area, and a visualization display of each model. It verified the maritime ship wireless communication network coverage laws under different spatial and temporal states through the analysis of coastal ship automatic identification system (AIS) historical data. In further marine ship communication research, the visualization model will clearly demonstrate the laws of maritime ship communication distribution, and the model laws can theoretically support and lay the foundation for building reliable ship communication networking, marine communication state monitoring, and network formation.
