Exploring the Performance of QDIBSC for Spherical QD Structure

The idea behind Intermediate Band Solar Cell (IBSC) is to introduce an extra energy level, called the intermediate band, within the large band gap like materials. The device's total Power Conversion Efficiency (PCE) can be raised by using this intermediary band to absorb photons with lower energy (longer wavelength) that would otherwise be lost in conventional solar cells (SC). This cutting-edge photovoltaic converter has a larger potential efficiency than single junction solar cells because it can increase the photogenerated current through the two-step absorption of lower energy photons without lowering its output voltage. Quantum Dot (QD) size & shape has Considerable effect on the PCE. The shape of a quantum dot directly affects its electronic structure, energy levels, carrier confinement, and surface interactions. So far, many researchers have focused with quantum dots of cubic structure. Here, we present a novel approach to determine the performance of Spherical QDIBSC. In this Work we used AlAs
