Examining the Feasibility of Flexible Coaxial-Probe-based Dielectric Sensing of Tissue Properties

The measurement of dielectric properties of biological tissues is vital for numerous applications, including as the foundation for microwave (MW) diagnostic and therapeutic technologies. A rigid open-ended coaxial probe is typically used for dielectric measurements across the MW range. However, rigid tools cannot easily reach all tissues, limiting the potential in vivo measurements that can be achieved. Therefore, this work presents a numerical study of a flexible coaxial probe for in vivo tissue measurements.
