Fiber Optics Transmission Card for Rack based System

Data conversion is one of the necessities in fibre optic rack-based transmitters and receivers. Complex circuits are used for this purpose. Hence the need of the hour is not only to develop simpler circuits, but also to develop circuits with low power consumption and higher data transfer rates with very good immunity for interferences. Our proposed circuits use transmitter cards to collect data from sub system in driver control unit through bus mechanism from back panel in a rack-based fibre optical communication system. The data is converted from electrical to optical in a cost effectively using low power circuits based on TTL logic like AND/NOR circuits. Transmitted pulses by using optical fibre is received in a receiver end and converted back to electrical signal and shared in BUS system to controller's card. Results show that our design is simpler, consumes low power and lesser time for conversion.
