Router-Router Switching Communication and Logic Verification with Configured Hardware Chip

The primary function of a router is to simultaneously connect many networks. It operates on the network layer as well. The main purpose of a switch is to provide a connection between many devices at once. It uses the data link layer to operate. The research article proposes chip communication between two networks in which two different clusters of 8 routers are communicating. The chip design is carried out using Xilinx ISE 14.7 software and behavior simulation and logic testing is carried out in Modelsim 10.0 software in which 64-bit data communication is verified in router-router communication. The design approach is a significant effort for effective network-on-chip (NoC) Communication. The novelty of the design is that the chip configuration is scalable and can be extended to a larger extent based on system requirements.
