Efficient Design of a Multiband Microstrip Series-Fed Array Antenna for 5G Millimeter-Wave Applications

This paper proposes a novel design of a multiband planar antenna array for 5G wireless communications based on a linear 4-elements fed series printed on a RT5880 substrate operating across six bands from 20 GHz to 30 GHz. The antenna array has good radiation performances with a gain of 12.4 dB and a return loss range between -15.58 dB and -32.7 dB. The compact size of the antenna array of (38 x 7 x 0.25) mm

makes it a suitable candidate for integration into small 5G devices. The simulated results show good improvements with regard to those available in the literature.
