FPGA based Motor Current Signature Analysis for Stator Faults Detection in Three Phase Induction Motor

On-line testing, diagnosis, and monitoring of induction motors (IMs) have increased recently. There are two main techniques for detecting faults in rotating machinery: vibration analysis and current signature analysis (CSA). Real-time analysis and fault detection of induction motors are performed using an algorithm based on embedded Field Programmable Gate Array FPGA-embedded systems described in this paper. According to the results, current signature analysis (CSA) is an important method for monitoring such failures. A real-time decision-making system that includes FPGAs can enhance the detection of failures. Further, the study suggests that integrating vibration methods with CSA can improve embedded and online monitoring of such systems.
