Simulation of radial coaxial dielectric barrier discharge plasma reactor

In this paper, a two-dimensional fluid model of radial coaxial packed-bed dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) is developed to investigate the effects of different dielectric constant packed beads and different voltages on plasma behavior in a DBD reactor. The reduction in discharge space due to the addition of packing beads significantly contributes to the generation of plasma discharge. The discharge pattern in packed bed DBD reactors is altered, manifesting itself as dispersion and local filamentary discharges. Raising the voltage or raising the dielectric constant of the packing beads can promote the generation of plasma discharges. This study provides a reference for a more specific understanding of plasma behavior in DBD reactors.
