Study on Design of Steeply Dropped Wide Passband Frequency Selective Surface Operating in X-Band

A steeply-descent wide-passband frequency selective surface (FSS) operating in the X-band is introduced. It has a cell size of 0.2 λand a center operating frequency of 10.0 GHz. It is able to achieve a transmission efficiency of more than 80% in the frequency range of 6.30 GHz-10.70 GHz, with a relative bandwidth of 94%. The right side of its passband forms a good steep drop characteristic with a relative bandwidth of 4.4%, and there is a drop stopband with| S

|≤-40 dB at 15.67 GHz. The structure shows good operation characteristics and polarization stability, when the incident angle is 0-50°. For further verification, FSS is processed and tested in kind.
