Study on Radio Wave Coverage Along the Railway Containing Multi-Tunnel Entrance Environments

Radio wave coverage in a mixed scenario containing multi-tunnel environment along railway is studied in this paper. The scenario specifically includes three typical environments: open space, confined space, and open-confined space. The main research of this paper is on the radio wave coverage along a route passing through two tunnel entrances. Due to the complex environment considered, finite difference time-domain (FDTD) method is used to model and analyze the radio wave coverage of a Yagi antenna. The results indicate that reducing the open space distance, decreasing the antenna installation height within the safe height range, and installing the antenna near the horizontal center while keeping the antenna height unchanged, can provide smoother radio wave coverage along the tunnel entrance.
