Triple-Band Shared-Aperture Antenna with Frequency Selection Characteristics for Base Station Applications

A triple-band Shared Aperture Antenna for base station applications is proposed, antenna operates in the frequency range of 0.63-0.95 GHz (LB), 1.6-1.76 GHz (MB), and 2.31-2.79 GHz (HB). The antenna element operating in the low-band frequency range of 0.62-0.95 GHz is positioned on a dual-band stacked antenna array, which operates at 1.35-1.83 GHz and 2.19-2.82 GHz. The low-band antenna and the dual-band antenna array share a reflector. The low-band antenna elements are designed as frequency selective surfaces (FSS) for the M/HB band. The simulation results show that the triple-band shared aperture antenna exhibits good radiation characteristics within its operating frequency bands, the LB antenna demonstrates electromagnetic transparency characteristics in the MB and HB bands.
