Multi-Angle Monostatic RCS Regulation Based on Conformal Metasurface

In this article, a new conformal metasurface that can realize directional radar cross section (RCS) modulation is designed. The metasurface is composed of target-shaped structural units. The design of the planar structure was completed according to Snell's theorem, and the overall structure was further optimized by algorithms taking into account the effect of the conformal phase distributions. Simulation results show that the designed metasurface can concentrate the scattered echoes into the −30°, 15°, −60°and 60° directions. By using this method, conformal metasurface can achieve various multi-angle RCS modulations through the design and algorithm optimization of different phases.
