Study of Noncritical Loads Impedance Angle on the Tolerable Grid-side Voltage Fluctuations of Electric Spring

Electric Springs can effectively mitigate the problems caused by network-side voltage instability by shifting the voltage fluctuations to non-critical loads. However, the "uncountable" input of non-critical loads in pursuit of voltage stabilization will inevitably bring new problems such as small fluctuations in grid-side voltage that the Electric Spring can withstand. In order to solve this problem, this paper takes the second-generation Electric Spring as the research object, explains its basic principle, analyzes its mechanism of regulating the voltage of critical loads, draws the phase diagram of the Electric Spring application configuration, and reveals the relationship between the critical load voltage and the Electric Spring voltage for different impedance angles of noncritical loads. The effect of different impedance angles of noncritical loads on the Electric Spring withstand voltage fluctuations on the grid side is discussed and defined with the help of MATLAB/Simulink tools, and the optimal configuration of different impedance angles of noncritical loads of the Electric Spring is derived and verified.
