Study on Cable Sealing Assemblies Layout Optimization for a UHVDC Project

With the deepening of converter station construction, the transmission capacity of UHV converter station is increasing, the voltage level is increasing, and more and more high-voltage equipment and power electronic equipment are used, which makes the electromagnetic environment in converter station more complicated. Cable shielding and blocking modules are often used in HVDC converter stations to restrain electromagnetic disturbance from entering secondary equipment through cables. In this paper, the electromagnetic interference suppression characteristics of the blocking module in UHV converter station are studied, mainly the shielding effectiveness and conduction suppression effect of the blocking module. Relying on the UHV DC projects in operation or newly-built commissioning in China, through the converter station field test, laboratory test and capital collection evaluation and analysis, the layout optimization suggestions of the blocking module are finally put forward.
