Analysis Study and Control of Quasi-Z-Source Inverter for Grid-Connected Photovoltaic System

This paper discusses the control and performance study, as well as the implementation of the Quasi-Z-Source inverter (QZSI) for a grid connected photovoltaic system. For stability analysis, a detailed mathematical model of QZS is developed and presented. To achieve high performance from a solar photovoltaic system, inject power into grid, and improve the power quality by compensating the harmonics at the point of common coupling, a combined control algorithm, which consists of MPPT algorithm based on perturbation and observation technique (P&O) and d-q control is developed and implemented. The performance of the full system and its control algorithm are tested under presence of severe operation conditions using Matlab Simulink.
