Three-Switch Double-Input Step-Up DC-DC Converter

This paper introduces a three-switch double-input step-up DC-DC converter (TSDISC). The proposed structure only employs three controlled switches, significantly reducing the multi-port converter's (MPC) cost and complexity. TSDISC utilizes the energy of both input sources to enhance the voltage conversion ratio. The inductor presents in the series with primary voltage sources assures the low ripple contents of the source current. In contrast, both the input sources of TSDISC shares common ground with a load, which is essential for safety reason. Moreover, the maximum voltage stress across semiconductors of the proposed structure is not more than the output voltage. The presented design has incorporated a charging path to integrate the battery with the renewable source. This study suggests the operation and analysis of TSDIC. At last, the credibility of the proposed work has been verified using simulations.
