A method to reduce the multi-path propagation effect in hydroacoustic characterization

In this paper we present a method to characterize a hydrophone in terms of sensitivity in a multi-path environment. The sensitivity of a low-cost, commercial-on-the-shelf (COTS) hydrophone was successfully measured in a plastic container filled with water by using a calibrated Bruel & Kjaer 8103 precision hydrophone.
