Blockchain-Based Validation of Event Advertisement and Trust Evaluation for the Next Generation Navigation System

With the development of ships towards intelligence and autonomy, the interaction of ships become more networked, which brings great convenience to navigation. However, due to the openness and high topology of the ship social network, it is difficult for ships to accurately evaluate the credibility of the received navigation events. In this paper, we propose a blockchain-based validation of event advertisement verification and trust evaluation for the next generation navigation systems. The system evaluates the credibility of navigational events through cooperative voting among ships and with the aid of HMM to ensure the credibility of interactions between ships. With the DPoS consensus mechanism based on ship trust value, information related to navigational events is packaged into blocks and uploaded to the chain by the selected witness ships, all of which jointly maintain the same consistent database. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed system is effective and feasible in navigational event notification verification and ship trust evaluation as well as in limiting malicious nodes from doing evil.
