Observer-Based Control of PEMFC Air Feed Systems Via High-Order Fully Actuated System Approaches

Oxygen excess ratio(OER) is an important indicator for proton exchange membrane fuel cell(PEMFC) air feed system, which need to be controlled at optimal point to guarantee good performance during PEMFC operation. A novel control strategy for PEMFC air feed system is proposed in this paper. The extended state observer(ESO) is designed to estimate the cathode pressure. Then the HOFAS model of PEMFC is derived from traditional state space model. And the placement of dynamic characteristics for air supply system could be realized by the parameterized controller combined with ESO. Finally the simulation case is presented, and simulation results illustrate the effectiveness of HOFAS control for air feed system.
