A Compact Rectangular Meander Slot and Antipodal Vivaldi radiator for 5G FR-II Applications

A resonator antenna constructed with a small rectangular meander line and antipodal vivadi left (AVL) for an integrated 5G frequency range-II (FR-II) is proposed in this study. The antenna’s W×L dimensions are 30mm × 22mm. FR4 epoxy, with a thickness of 1.6 mm, serves as the substrate material. The wideband is attained by establishing AVL and a slot in the resonator. Four rectangular slots are formed in the patch to make a two U shaped meander line. The calculated impedance bandwidth for the proposed architecture is 4.37GHz. The computed gain for the proposed antenna is 4.1 dBi. At 28GHz, the reflection obtained for the suggested design is -21.27db. The two-turn meander and AVL antenna are created utilizing a complete ground structure. The antenna was developed for usage with the Ka-band.
