Low Profile High Directive Configurable-circular polarised Antenna for C-Band Communication

This paper presents a design of a high directive C-band Electro-Magnetically Coupled Patch (EMCP) antenna array fed with a 1×6 series power divider, exhibiting circular polarization properties. The proposed antenna array shows a good axial ratio and impedance bandwidth from 5.7 GHz to 5.9 GHz. The proposed antenna is compact, simple and occupies less printed circuit area. Furthermore, the design is simulated using commercially available electromagnetic software ANSYS. In addition, the array antenna is fabricated and measured with a gain of 15dBi with an axial ratio of less than 3 dB across the frequency band. It is observed that the measured performances are closely matches to simulated performances.
