Sensorless Axial Vibration Damping Control of Two-Axis Actively Positioned Bearingless Motors With Adaptive Flux Observer

This paper proposes a sensorless estimation of rotor axial motions and an active control of axial vibration suppressions in two-axis actively positioned bearingless motors. Proposed adaptive flux observer effectively works for estimating the rotor axial vibration velocity that it is proportional to the error between measured and estimated stator currents. It is computationally verified that the proposed vibration suppression technique can be utilized even when continuous noises are included in current sensors.
