Cavity Backed Metasurface Antenna for High Power Applications

Metasurface antennas provide high performance in terms of gain and bandwidth. However, it suffers from back lobe radiation and low power handling capability. This paper proposes a cavity-backed metasurfaces design that can handle high input power. The proposed model operates from 2.1 GHz to 3.6 GHz with a 53 % bandwidth and 6 dB gain. Furthermore, perfect matching between experimental measurements and simulated results is achieved.
