3D Phased Array Architecture for Field-of-View Enhancement in Satcom COTM Terminals

In recent years, satellite communication (satcom) has attracted a lot of attention as key solution for mitigating the digital divide. In Communications On-the-Move (COTM) terminals, the antenna is subjected to a continuous movement, having to continuously adjust the radiated beam pattern in the satellite direction. In this paper, a satcom phased array with Field-of-View (FoV) improvement for mobility applications is presented exploiting a 3D configuration of the antenna elements.
