Analysis based on fault current contribution of distributed sources in microgrid

Distributed generation significantly improves the performance of electric power systems. It improves productivity, effectiveness, and voltage fluctuations. However, it also poses substantial design issues for protection strategies. Integration of distributed energy resources (DERs) has had a significant impact on the microgrid's defect rate. Microgrids are susceptible to outages if their kind, degree of DER penetration, location, and operating state have a significant impact on conventional protection theories. Therefore, the authentic way notion must be modified in order to expand the number of segments and sub grids. In this paper the fault current contribution by the different type of distributed sources and load in grid connected and isolated mode of operation of microgrid is consider. When an operation state or network configuration changes, protection devices (PDs) must adjust their operational settings to account for the altered system parameters. A design for communication-assisted protection that offers constant data exchange across PDs can provide rapid, dependable, and trustworthy protection. Using real-time analysis in microgrids can assist the protection system predict mistakes.
