3-Tank System Liquid Level Control using Metaheuristic Algorithm

PID controllers are widely used in process control applications, including liquid level control of 3-tank systems. However, finding the optimal PID controller parameters can be challenging, and to address this issue, evolutionary algorithms like Genetic Algorithm (GA), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Sine Cosine Algorithm (SCA) have been utilized. The step response of each combination of three tanks is obtained using PID controllers, and the process performances are compared. In this paper, both interactive and non-interactive 3-tank liquid level controllers are used. The control parameters are tuned by using three evolutionary methods such as GA, PSO, and SCA. It is observed that GA has a better response as compared to the other two methods.
