Energy Efficiency Based Resource Allocation with Relay Method for MIMO WSN

Energy efficiency based resource allocation with relay method for MIMO WSNs has been gaining popularity lately as an effective communication network approach. Compared to traditional networking schemes, this method offers higher data rate and improved spectral efficiency. Furthermore, it contributes to the implementation of distributed MIMO solutions, allowing for simpler interconnections between nodes and better signal coverage in a dense network. In this paper, we present an energy efficiency based resource allocation algorithm for MIMO WSNs enabling the use of relays to enhance capacity and increase coverage. The proposed algorithm uses an optimization method based on convex-hull driven scheduling as well as an efficient resource partitioning technique. Additionally, the paper also provides a detailed analysis of the system’s performance concerning energy efficiency. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can lead to significant improvement in network throughput, energy efficiency and coverage. Moreover, it can also yield a better resource allocation performance than the state-of-the-art algorithm.
